Sadhguru bei mir zu Gast: What the world needs right now…

Lies selbst…

Christin:

„Dear Sadhguru, what do you think does the world need right now? What is the deep impact of your work?“

Sadhguru:

„The biggest problem on the planet right now is this: If small things go wrong in your life, you think it is someone else who is responsible for your misery. If big things go wrong in your life, you think it is God who is responsible. You yourself do not seem to be responsible for anything.

A time has come in the world where people need to understand that everything that is happening to you, the way you are experiencing life, whether your life is joy or misery, is entirely your making because human experience comes from within. When it comes to human wellbeing, in is the only way out. There is simply no other way.

This is very important – the responsibility of who you are, what you are, what you are not, must move to you. This is my fundamental mission: From religion to responsibility. Religion means for everything that goes wrong in your life, responsibility is up there in heaven. The problem is you are on a round planet and the damn thing is spinning. Nowhere in the cosmos is it marked “This side up.” If you do not even know which way is up, inevitably, you are looking up in the wrong direction. How come something “up there” is responsible for what you are? It is time we take this responsibility – then we can do the best we can do.

„In Indian culture, it is always said: “Your life is your karma. (…)

And karma means action.”

Sadhguru

In Indian culture, it is always said: “Your life is your karma.” Today, there is a misconception that karma means punishment or reward. That is not what it is. Karma means action. You are performing physical, mental, emotional, and energetic action every moment of your life, in wakefulness and in sleep. This incessant action accumulates in the form of a certain type of memory.

All of it is not conscious memory. Over 95% is unconscious memory. This is like you are creating an unconscious software. As it builds up, this memory will start determining your tendencies, the way you behave and the way you make choices. Because this is happening from within us and most people are not conscious about how this is happening, it makes you feel like another force from somewhere else is acting upon you.

So when you say, “My life is my karma,” it is not a fatalistic statement. What you are saying is, “My life is my making.” This is the most dynamic way to exist. This is the only culture where it has been clearly expressed that your life is not being made by some other force elsewhere, your life is being crafted every moment by you – it is your making. The only problem is that you are making it unconsciously. What you are doing unconsciously, if you do the same thing consciously, then you will become the maker of your own destiny.

„If you take charge of your experience of life, the quality, the content and the destiny of your life

can be entirely determined by you.“

Sadhguru

A spiritual process essentially means that you are taking charge of your karma. You may not be able to change the past karma. It tends to play out. But today’s karma is one hundred percent in your hands. If you take charge of today’s karma absolutely, what happens within you in terms of your experience can be determined immediately, and what happens around you will be determined within a certain span of time. If you take charge of your experience of life, the quality, the content and the destiny of your life can be entirely determined by you.“
